Palatial Home on Bulleen Road

Lookee what I found at the top of the page when I went to scout out the new houses for sale around my old neighbourhood at Realestate.com.au... Check out the palatial residence below. Not that I would feel comfortable living in a house like this but it was so huge, I felt compelled to write about it.

When I was flicking through the photos of the interior, I wasn't even sure whether I was looking at the local sports club or a house! Location-wise, I don't think you could ask for more, except that this house is located on a main road. Although I'm sure getting in and out of your garage won't be as bad as it is for the people living on Jalan Maarof, I guess I've always been programmed against houses on main roads.

$1.6m for a double block of this size is probably a fair price to pay given the current market conditions, even if the individual lots are a tad on the smallish side. I do recall my Dad telling me he had recently observed an auction for a house along Maud Street, just a few doors down from my aunt's house, that went for about $800k. I don't know what the condition of the house was, but Dad had mentioned about it being used for re-development, so I guess in comparison, $1.6m for this house isn't so bad after all.

While it's not exactly my ideal home, I have to say I quite like the idea of the pool, tennis courts and gym facilities. It's definitely not a house I would consider for investment purposes but it is an interesting house to look at.
